What were your starting weights and what are you up to now? How long have you been doing weight lifting?

I started out at squatting 75lbs 3 weeks ago. I'm up to 95 now. Although I read that I should really only be doing 8 reps each set? I've been keeping the lower weight so I can do 15 reps for 4 sets.

Are you training for strength or endurance? For strength, try and stay below 8 reps (most beginner programs are 5x3 or 5x5). For endurance, 10+ is the way to go.

I started in January. These numbers are all for 5x5 (except deadlift, which is 1x5)

    Squat: 45lbs > 150lbs
    Bench: 45lbs > 80lbs
    Deadlift: 90lbs > 200lbs
    OHP: 30lbs > 60lbs
    Row: 45lbs > 75lbs

My upper body is pathetic compared to my lower.

I would just like to get stronger, I think I'll have to go the 8 reps route and see how much I can squat tonight only doing 8 instead.

Those numbers look amazing! I'm benching 65 right now but that number doesn't seem to budge.

If you have a good training partner, go for a few sets of your 1RM. I do this consistently (when I'm training) and it makes a huge difference. Also, for your bench: Is it the bottom or the top of your bench thats the hardest for you? If its the top, work those triceps! If its the bottom, do things like pushups and vary your sets with incline/decline benches. Make sure you do a set or two with dumb bells instead of just the bar as well as tossing in some chest flyes as well :)

I started my bench at 19... at 60lbs. Within six months I could do sets of 125lbs, with a 1rm of 140. :)

My world record in the bench is with a bench shirt on, and its 225.7. My best personal record is 250lbs :D
