heel pain (achilles tendinitis) after running

anyone ever experience achilles tendinitis (heel pain from running)?
I got it last night on both heels after my mile time trial yesterday. I've had it much worse before and I had to stop running for 3 months back then. It's not as bad this time, but I still have to ice it and rest today, which sucks since I just revitalized my training motivation. AAAhhhhh! Hopefully the pain's gone by tomorrow morning.
Any other advice about how to handle it?

I was starting to feel a little bit of uncomfortable pulling on my right Achilles tendon after my run on Monday... I'm going to keep an eye on it tonight on my run, but it doesn't seem to bother me when I run outside (I'm mostly running on a treadmill). What is it like when it starts to bother you?

it bothers me slightly when I run (now) but a lot when I do calf raises or go up and, especially, down stairs. Last time I had it, a year ago, it was god awful painful to run. I don't want it to get that bad again!
and it does feel like a pull right on my tendon. ice is helping gradually....

It has plagued me since my half. I think the only way to really just get rid of it is going to the doctor. So I am going soon to have it looked at. Self treatment hasn't really gotten rid of it. Sure stays at bay but every time I try to go start to add up mileage again it flares up.
