For everyone who thinks "Kinect" isn't an exercise!

So in November 2011 I decided on wanting a Kinect, and by the time Black Friday came around, we decided on getting one. Part of the deal was that I'd be actually using it, and because I really wanted it I agreed. Never would I have imagined that I'd be actually using it.
I've read posts on the forum where some people say that it's not an actual workout, and before using it, I never really believed that it was, but it is. Just today I've played the game "Kinect Adventures" and was soaked in sweat within 20 minutes. I ended up burning over 1000 calories playing it for 80 minutes, that's how much I burn when I run. (Btw, I use a "Polar ft7" HRM with strap, so it's accurate.) That game has different adventures on it, one of them where you need to jump, duck, move left and right etc. to avoid obstacles. The further you get, the harder it gets and the faster the obstacles come your way. This is just an example of one of those, but there are plenty more that will get your heart racing and your body sweating.
I started my journey beginning of February 2012, so back in November I was probably still close to 330 pounds. I am now 295 pounds and still working hard every day to get to where I want to be. I always try to combine exercise with fun, and Xbox Kinect definitely lets me do that. There's a big variety of games out there that really get you going, just like "Fighters Uncaged", which works your arms and legs doing boxing/kickboxing.
So you see where I'm going with this blog post, and I hope that more people will give it a try. It is fun and works your body, what better could there be?! Exactly!

I have a fitness game on my kinect.
I haven't played any other games for it though. We don't have very many. I may have to try one of them.0 -
It's definitely worth checking some more out. There are even some demo's on the Marketplace for some Kinect game. Might want to try some of them first.0

We have a Kinect and it has been used but is currently gathering dust as we don't have the space to use it - but our Couch Surfer buddy should be gone next week so I'll be able to sort the room out again and make space - my favourite is Dance Central - now that to me is a workout - I tried Zumba but I failed at keeping up!0

I'd love to use our Kinect if my kids would ever get off the Xbox LOL. But the few times I've tried it I get sweaty pretty fast and don't even realize I'm exercising...I'm just trying to kick my kids butts in a game LOL. I do use the Wii everday and love it.0
