Hey guys!
First of all- im soo glad to have found this app, and now the forum! The app on my android is just beyond phenomenal. The product scanner actually works and it has almost every food i look up ( .. even international foods!!)

Second- im thankful that myfitnesspal has got a forum! I need all the help i can get!

I want to lose weight the right way. But my issue is-i want it to be effective, and unfortunately im not quite sure i know how to. So far , for the past 2 weeks, ive been just doing the ellptical machine. M-F i do this twice a day totaling 2 hrs /day. My machine says alltogther i burn 1060 cal/day ( about 580 each work out)

Heres a bit about me :

Im female :)
165 lbs
5 ft 2 in
East asian
My diet is mainly Lean Cuisines.

I dont know how to work out. I want to strength train +cardio.. but there are so many machines.. so many body parts that need to be worked on.. i'm just so lost. I don't even know how to make a schedule. I did some googling.. but its still so overwhelming. Some say : more reps low weight = lean body.. and some say the opposite. I just need somewhere to turn to and someone to help. I don't want to get started off on the wrong foot. Does anyone have a schedule that they follow that i can follow, or do u have any suggestions? Should i alternate between strength train +cardio 1 day, then next day- just cardio? Do i not do cardio and strength training on the same day? Help!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated :) I really am looking forward to posting my success story here some day :)

    Welcome!

    Lots of good (and some not-so-good) advice here. And great support!

    Start recording -- food and exercise -- set your goals on MyFitnessPal (MFP). You may not want to follow all the guidelines; see what works for you. (So far the MFP guidelines have worked rather well for me.)

    Thanks! I did enter all my info into MFP :)

    I forgot to mention im 26 and i want to go from 164 to 130lbs :) Hope to hang around here and meet some cool people!!
