I try to have at least 1,500mg of sodium a day (my goal is set to 1800) because its important nutrient for cellular processes and transportation of nutrients in the body.
It also helps your muscles when they're contracting and relaxing.
"A deficiency of sodium could result in headache, vomiting, confusion, dizziness and low blood pressure."
"A healthy range for daily sodium intake is between 1,500 and 2,400 milligrams"
A low sodium level can result in a hospital stay, and in some cases...death.0 -

Thats scary! I've always tried to keep my sodium low!
Remember though that if your like me a season your food with a bit of salt that will effect your sodium. Although mine appears low, i think with the bit of seasoning I add it's prob ok.

My sodium intake is low. And it reflects in my blood work. My dr told me to increase my sodium intake but having high blood pressure I try to keep it on the low end. I just cant stand the taste of sodium. But it is an electrolyte needed for healthy heart function. I'm more worried about my potassium levels right now. Google sources of sodium. Thats what I did for potassium and incorporated some of the foods listed.0
