Good morning Pebbs!
Do you have a great exercise day planned?
I stepped on the scale this morning (even after cheat day!) and lost a pound! Yippee! I know it's not a lot and it can come back on quickly, but I know this is working. I just have to stick with it! It was an encouragement after trying on a bunch of clothes yesterday only to find they are still really tight.
We went for a walk last night to get water: 2.6 miles. I asked DH if I looked stupid while running. He said I looked cute. :blushing: What a goofball.
Goals today:
not to over eat (struggled with that at lunch yesterday)
go walk/jog for 3.5 miles (if I have the stamina)
clean house (mother in law is coming to help watch Alex for me this week)
It's a busy week for me so I will try to get in what I can. I think if Alex and I get up early enough we can still run in the mornings.
I hope you all have a blessed Monday!
MM

Husband already asked if I would like to walk tonight - so if I don't bike to yoga, that will be an equal amount of exercise. It's hot and sunny, so not biking is a possibility. Will do treadmill this morning and clean the house. Other tasks: get web worms out of pecan trees (messy job) & get dinner made before leaving for yoga.
When I see people running, I never think they look stupid - but they usually don't look happy eitherI live on a main neighborhood street with side walks and a bike lane - I see a lot of people exercising.

Hi All and Happy Monday!
Yesterday I did the Santa Monica stairs for the first time in at least six months and I was dying! It felt great. I biked there and back, and kept my eating under control. Then late last night the new guy and I went for a walk to see if we could find the grunions, and ended up walking all the way to the pier and back (about an hour total). I loved it! It was a beautiful night to be out strolling on the beach.
OH and I gave him ALL of the chocolate cake to take into the office so my house is officially a cake-free zone!
Today:
~ Stretch
~ Afternoon yoga class?
~ Log my calories
~ Weigh in0 -
Way to go WL on the exercise and getting rid of the cake! That is so hard for me to do as I love my sweets!
I didn't go around the park twice, just once, but I did jog 6 minutes. I also did my squats and push ups.
Now if I can just get the house clean!

Grrrrrrrrrraaaaarrrgh!
So, today, in the past six hours, I have had three different fictional contracts for my summer teaching. I have been told I'm teaching two sections of a course, then one section of a course, then two, then back to one, then up to three, then . . .as it now stands one. (bear in mind that each section is worth around $4000, so that's quite a financial roller coaster.) I am beyond angry/upset/frustrated/etc. Also,I taught two of the sections today, so that means that I may have taught for three hours for (wait for it) free.
I was really hoping on at least two, so I could afford to pay my summer tuition (about 4000) and go see my mother I haven't seen in three years and my brother that I haven't seen in over five years. (my brother has never met my husband).
I feel jerked around, and angry and frustrated. I went for a loooooong walk to try to cope with this. It didn't work. I'm trying to remember to breathe and relax, etc, but I am angrier and more frustrated than I have been in a long time. Please pray/medidate/send me positive thoughts.
I keep telling myself that I am a really good teacher (I am.) and that this has nothing to do with me, but it's so frustrating. I can't just go get another job (and I would, I have no shame about working) because my visa status won't cover it.
OK, vent over.
All out of resiliency boogaloo.
Take care of yourselves boogaloo.:flowerforyou:0 -
I'm sorry V! How frustrating and maddening! I'm sorry the long walk didn't help either. I will pray for you. Things will work out somehow. :flowerforyou:

Oh, Viv, I'm so sorry you're being jerked around. I hope you make some progress on your visa status soon so that you'll have a little more control. Breathe! And think of something fantastic you can do with your free time if you don't end up getting that 2nd course (maybe more voice lessons for barter?). :flowerforyou:

I have been feeling kinda crabby today, though I don't have as good of a reason. Ever just have one of those days where everything is annoying you? We are getting ready for a trip out west, and I have a lot to do at work, and at home. And a friend of mine is irritating me lately. Ugh! I want to just go home instead of running, but I would probably just veg instead of doing anything productive. Maybe a run will turn my head around.
Positive thoughts boogaloo! :flowerforyou:0 -
So, I'm trying to make lemonade out of my lemons. I declared it a cheat day and made lemonade martinis.
Then, I'm right back on my positivity horse.
Pity party officially over by tomorrow. But, ouch, getting jerked around sucks.

Triumph over crankiness! I really didn't want to, but I went running. I alternated running for 10 minutes with walking for a minute or two, and went over 5 miles in less than a hour including warm-up and cool-down walking. So that was good. And then I REALLY wanted to stop and buy a bottle of wine on the way home, but I decided not to because it was already after 8pm. So I came home, finished off the tiny little half glass of wine that we had left, and made myself Mary's strawberry goat cheese salad with walnuts. Now I'm going to do laundry.
Deep breath boogaloo!0
