i've seen so many posts this morning (more than usual) from people who haven't lost weight in a couple of weeks, or have been losing a pound a week but would prefer to lost two a week. i know these threads are always here, but for some reason they have really just hit me the wrong way this morning, and all i can say is gah! are you kidding me?!?!

i lost about 30 pounds from august 2010 to june of 2011. i have not lost a *single* pounds since then. not one. i haven't lost any inches either, although my appendages are becoming more solid. my calories are set for 1540 per day, i work out 5-6 times a week, and i generally net between 1100 and 1300 calories. i've tried switching up my workouts, switching up my rest days, switching up my diet, eating more, eating less, you name it.

but all that is not the point.

the point is that i have been plateaued for almost an *entire* year. and i'm still here. i'm still logging. i'm still fighting the good fight. and i still have the expectation that i can and will reach my goal, no matter how long it takes. i haven't thrown in the towel. so anyone who is ready to give it all up after a couple weeks of not seeing the scale go down - your head is not really in the game. get your mind in there people. prepare for the long haul, and commit to it. gah!

Way to stay positive! A big part of losing weight is having the right attitude. If you feel like a failure, then you'll ultimately give up. You're correct that success can be measured in more ways than the number on the scale. This is a popular topic on the maintenance thread right now. We've reached our goal weight, so now what? We don't have the motivation of seeing the number go down on the scale anymore (which is why many start gaining the weight back). You have to create new goals for yourself. Being able to reach closer to your toes while stretching during a yoga class, lifting with heavier weights, increasing number of pushups, increasing muscle tone, etc.

Now I'm going to post a topic about how I broke through my plateau since there are apparently many people bothered by this problem.
