This post is for everyone doing or thinking about doing c25k. I just ran for an hour straight.

20-ish weeks ago I started C25K.I was so out of shape I had to do week 1 twice....TWICE (hard to imagine not being able to jog for 60 seconds!) Now 11 weeks or so after graduating I just ran, for my first time, an hour straight. Now I'm not the fastest runner, and I certainly don't love running but I like how I feel AFTER running. It's not exercise for me; its size-ercise.

My inspiration for running an hour today is my GF who is on week 6 or 7 of c25k ( I forget which, she went on vacation last week!) and yesterday ran for 35 mins straight...way ahead of the c25k time plan. Her success encouraged me to push it today.

I had not set out to run an hour today, just a small increase from my normal 40 minutes to 45. I took a slightly different route and on after reaching a local park which has a half mile loop, I lost track of what lap # I was on and ended up doing one more extra lap which if I ran my normal way back would have made for about a 52 minute run. I thought about pushing it to 55mins or even an hour but dismissed it because I know you shouldn't add too much more to your normal run at a time. But, I felt good and thought I could do it. When I reached the 51 minute mark, the theme to Rocky came on and I realized I'd end up at my home before the song ended. The hell I said to myself!

No way was I wasting the Rocky theme! With visions of Rocky running I up those stairs I kept going. I hit the 55 minute mark with it still playing and realized that an hour was right there...I just had to keep on keeping on.

Which lead me back to you. As much as I hate cliches and platitudes and rah-rah motivational slogans... Just keep on keeping on and whatever your goals are, I know you will meet them, then exceed them! All you have to do...is just do it.If I can do it, I know you can as well! Stick with it! You'll have good weeks and bad weeks; but know can reach your goals.

Good luck!
