Getting my head around BMR/TDEE

Hypothetical situation:

I want to lose 1lb/week.

I worked out my BMR and TDEE on Fitness Frog (http://www.fitnessfrog.com)

BMR: 1762
TDEE: 2422 based on 1-3 days exercising, or 2114 based on sedentary.

If I have to eat over my BMR, and if I was usinig 2114 as my TDEE, is it true that I can't lose 1lb/week because 2114-1762 = 352 ie < 500cal deficit/day?

Are there any circumstances where it's ok to eat under your BMR, or is it just going to cause issues with your metabolism?

NOTE: In reality, I'm working out 5-6 times a week, with a TDEE of 2730, eating 2000-2100 cal/day, I'm just asking this question to try to better understand how BMR/TDEE works.

    I think the admonition about eating below your BMR is more applicable to people who are on very low calorie diets and consistently eat below BMR.

    On the days you're exercising hitting a 500 cal deficit and staying above BMR works fine, on days when you're less active you may end up a little below. If you average it out over a week (based on exercising 3 days week and going for a 500 cal day deficit) your average daily intake would be 1,746. Nothing to worry about.

    Ah, ok, so averaging would work?

    What if you were totally sedentary?

    So:

    BMR: 1762
    TDEE: 2114

    2114 - 500 = 1614 calories

    Would consistently eating 1600 calories with a BMR of 1762 cause issues?

    Yup! You didn't get over weight overnight. Don't try to get back to level overnight.
