Best way to look your best at an event?

Hey all,
I am getting married a week from today, and was wondering if any of you had diet "tricks" that you use to make sure you look your best at an event.
I don't like crash diets, but was thinking of cutting down a lot on things like sugar, salt, red meat... etc..
I'm still not anywhere close to my goal weight, and that is okay, but I just don't want to look all gross and bloated in pictures.

I did a detox diet once that got rid of all the bloat. It lasted for seven days and each day I was supposed to eat unlimited non-starchy vegetables, one piece of fruit, and one 3-ounce serving of chicken or tuna. I lost 11 pounds, even with only making it to day 6.
I gained the weight back after just three days, so be warned that it's just a temporary solution.0 -
Best tips are to eat water rich foods like melon, cucumber, leafy greens. Also add in some fish. Drink a lot of water.
I also suggest a spa day 3 days before the wedding. Get a massage and a facial to blast out those toxins. ( I say a few days incase you get any blemishes)
Also get some rest0 -

Oh, I know that, but I just want to make sure I'm just not bloated *that day* then I can get back to my regular healthy-loss routine. I'm mostly just wanting to kill water weight.0 -
To reduce bloat, I like to drink a lot of water the week of (if you drink water, your body won't hold on to it, thus, letting you look thin), and avoid sodium, caffeine, and alcohol. Also, eat a lot of natural foods full of fiber, like veggies and fruits.0

Hydrate, work out moderately, eat tons of delicious greens, citrus, melons, avoid dairy and starches that are not rice, and limit sodium.0

Rest and eat well.
Anything attempt to do something extreme in one week will just leave you looking exhausted. No amount of weight you might lose in a week is going to make any visual impact.0 -
I have to disagree with getting a facial days before your wedding... Danger!! You have no idea how you're going to react unless it's something you do regularly.0

You could always try some shortened fast periods. For instance, don't eat anything past 8pm and then don't eat anything again until 11am each day. Stick with your regular calorie defiicit during the day, just make sure you're done eating by 8pm. It's not a trick, it's a form of intermittent fasting. Watch your sodium intake and of course junk food.0 -
