My birthday, Mother's Day, and my anniversary are all coming up in May and I am making a, "gimmie, gimmie!" list. I never really ask for anything specific and this year I would like things to continue to motivate me. I researched HRMs and put the Polar FT4F on my list. What else should go on there?

Me - almost 37, about 120 pounds from where the charts say I should be, work out mostly at the gym on the elliptical and circuit training machines. I have plantar faciaitis and a heel spur and a repaired, but still bothering, torn ACL, which makes it hard on my knees to do running and even walking. I do have a fairly high pain tolerance too and "suck it up" often to talk a walk with the kids. I was thinking biking might be fun, but my kids are 6 (does not know how to ride yet) and 2. But, we could get a seat for the little one and take it slow for the bigger one.

What other "tools" do you use to stay motivated?

Sounds like a great gift idea~ I have been looking into the exercise ball, lots of options and still reading up on it. I like my weights to work out my arms and chest. looking to not be so saggy if i can do some weight training. oh and a good bra, that's a must but i think a nice gift card to a good store is in order for that one:).

I have music on my iPod touch that I play while I'm exercising and it keeps me motivated. I also have a HRM (Polar FT7). And I invested in a good pair of shoes, because it makes all the difference when I'm exercising or walking. I also have resistance bands and a few hand weights.

Thank you! I am adding resistance bands to my list. I have a small set of weights, but I like the idea of bands. I have good shoes...wish I had good feet!

I dont have an MP3 player...maybe I will add one of those :-)
