Doing too much?

Hey all..
I work the night shift, 4pm-2am. I try to go for 2 walks while I am at work, 15-20 minutes each time. I also stand at my desk for at least 1/2 of my shift.
I am just wondering if that is too much, when you add it to the rest of my day.
Every morning 30 minutes on a stationary bike. (sometimes less, but I try for 30 every day)
Mon-Wed-Fri I do weight training
Tues-Thurs-Sat I just started the C25K prgram.
And, I try to walk the dog 1/2 mile every day.
Am I taxing my body too much? I am overweight, and my brain tells me that the more I can exercise, the more fat I will lose. But, I dont want to overdo it, and end up being counterproductive.

If your body is not giving you warning signs with increased injuries (ie shin splints, increased aches/pains, heavy & lasting fatigue) then I don't see that you would be doing too much physically. More concerning would be that you may be doing too much MENTALLY. Remember that about 50% of your health is in your head (my opinion) - that includes physical health. If you put to much on yourself you may burn-out mentally and not be able to make the physical changes you want because mentally you've overexerted yourself. Be sure to give yourself days of "rest" and if you injure yourself - take the time to heal and rest. Also cut yourself some slack mentally. If your're tired because of your daily workout, sit down most of your shift, and maybe only go for a more leisurely walk. Exercise needs to be enjoyable, or we won't keep doing it.

Yeah, just pay attention to signs. If you feel overly lethargic, messed up sleep patterns, etc.0

If you are enjoying what you are doing keep doing it.
but I def agree with listening to your body. You will know when it's too much. Well this is what I have found for myself. I have also found that sometimes I have to bring forward my rest day, and that helps too. (At the moment I have no day that's dedicated as a rest day. sometimes it's wednesday, some times it's sunday, sometimes it's thrusday. I just go with what my body tells me I'm capable. I have gone 10 days straight of exercise, and then gave myself a rest day, then worked out for 2 days and had to have another rest day... so yeah go figure).0 -
Thanks...
as always, I can count on people here to give me good answers.. Mostly from their won self experience...0
