when to stop?

ive been on MFP for 255 days now and have calorie counted since day 1, as much as i enjoy logging all my foods and excercises and really seeing a difference with my food choices from when i first started BUT i dont want to clorie count forever and it seems like in my head im getting to a point where if i cant log i go into a panic wondering what my numbers will be, What do i do? should i stop counting and do it on my own? or continue ?

You could try not logging until the end of the day for a while. So eat what you feel is about right and then at the end of the day, add everything up and see how you went. When you feel more confident with that, you could try not tracking for a week and see how you go. If you gain/lose too much, then go back to tracking for a week and repeat the process. You might find that it's helpful to track one day a week to make sure you're not slowly creeping up your portion sizes or getting back in to bad habits.

Just like it was hard adjusting to calorie counting, it's going to be hard learning to eat well without always counting - just take it slow, one step at a time :)

I fear that I'll have this problem at some point too. There have been times where I've wanted to not count, but I end up doing it anyway... Even if it's a "cheat" meal.

I like the idea of easing into it. Maybe just do Monday through Friday with counting, then take weekends off? Perhaps it will get easier with time.

You've come so far and made a lot of great changes - and I don't think that those new habits are going anywhere. I bet you are ready to fly on your own, little birdie!! Try some weekends off :)

I stopped logging on Wed, my plan is to eat when hungry and try to make healthy choices most of the time. As well, as keep up my exercise and work on improving my fitness. If I start to gain weight I might go back to logging, or change something up.

For the most part, I've learnt a lot from MFP and will just try to listen to my body.
