I'm trying to stay pretty low carb. I have a couple of yummy spreads (fig butter and pumpkin butter) and I would really like to have some every once in awhile. These are like 9 to 12 carbs per serving and I'd rather not waste more carbs on bread. so other than just eating with a spoon what would do you think might be a better choice? I like the wasa crackers but I haven't found one that is plain enough for this yet. Thanks!

Depending on where you live - Wegmans (grocery store) make these awesome things called CoCo Pops - they are kind of like rice cakes, only better and are like 16 calories and 4 g carbs each! They work a pizza crust, with peanut butter, nutela, etc!

Joseph's oat/flax whole grain pita. 4 net carbs per slice

This^^. I got them on netrition.com. There's also low carb tortillas on that site that are good too. The only fairly low carb bread product I've found in grocery stores is Healthy Life 40 calorie bread. 8 carbs per slice and I think 2 grams of fiber? Not exactly sure. I've pretty much switched to the pitas and tortillas. I can't find any true low carb tortillas or pitas in the stores though.

I recently bought the Sandwich Thins-Whole Wheat.....LOVE 'em!!! They are good as toast or as bread for sandwiches, hamburgers, whatever...I've totally replaced regular bread with this! There are bagel thins as well! Great source of fiber too!!

I wouldn't go with the flat outs, rice cakes or sandwich/bagel thins. They really aren't low carb. Granted they are better than the full carb alternative, but there's better options still.

Sprouted grains such as Ezekiel. They're far superior to any source of other breads. Complete protein, legit fibre, and low phytic acid content due to the sprouting process.

Thankfully most of the markets sell this stuff where I live in Massachusetts.
