Hey, you can add me if you like :) I think I have some good info to share, but I lack motivation. I need someone to help keep me motivated and who wants motivation in return :)
  • hey I'm new too! I've lost 70 lbs despite my binging problem... maybe I can help you out a little!

    Hi and welcome :-)

I've found the trick for me is to start easy but increase with weight lost. So for example at the start of the diet all I did was 3 days a week swimming / walking as the excercise machines made me feel ill. Swimming for 30mins, walking an hour and half.

After I'd lost some more weight I increased the timings to 40mins swimming and trying to do some time in the gym first, even if it was only 5 minutes on one machine. I also started trying various classes to find the right one for me.

Now I'm doing body pump as well as swimming as people keep saying weights are great and it's a tough work out but one you can feel you can do something else at the end of (as you're not sweaty or out of breath just aching).

Other people will offer different advice but it's all about finding what works for you. I'm coming up to 3 stone lost so this is working for me right now, as I simply wasn't fit enough to start with what the gym recommended. Some things might burn fat faster but for me it's more important to keep motivation throughout - classes are great for that as whilst on the gym floor you can slope off without anyone noticing you feel guilt about walking out of a class....
