Stay hydrated, take a couple of Tylenol (or the pain reliever you prefer), and do some mild exercise. It's hard for me to motivate myself to workout when I'm cramping, but I find that if I make myself do it I actually feel better.

I did, and I talked to my doctor about it and she did an ultrasound on me to find fibriods. They were so big that my uterus was distended to the size of a woman that is 5 mos pregnant. I had a hysterectomy, best thing I ever did.

Menstral pain is no joke and we really need to take care of ourselves during this time. I had major anemia due to mine, which went away after my surgery.

I suggest a heating pad and some midol and a nap.

Hi hun, i have actually got fibroids, my consultant told me but at the time he said they were quite small. But i get pressure constantly now on my bladder etc and awful periodss. To be honest i was thinking of having a hysterectomy as im a ***** for 2 weeks anyway of the month and ..then just in bloody agony. Did you find you were ok after the hysterectomy? xxxx

I have them really badly. I have cysts on my ovaries too and they are so messed up I am in agony for a whole week before and then during. It does help to do some light exercise, maybe just a walk or something. have a hot water bottle and it helps to be nice and full up so eat filling foods otherwise you will just eat crap the whole time. :D Allow yourself a treat too! x

HYDRATE! midol, walk if you can ( had my TOM last week and was cramping bad... i did sit ups... POOF cramps gone... NO JOKE) I some times just lay in a recliner (so i'm not totally flat) with a heating pad on my tummy and or back and it helped a lot (thermacare heat wraps work great too!)
    good luck and feel better!

I was freaking terrified when I went into that hospital. Scared to death as well as so sad, I was never able to have children and although I had resigned to that fact, this procedure made it so final. I sat down at the registration desk and lost it, started crying right then and there. The lady processing me told me she had the same thing done the year before and was cooking Thanksgiving dinner in 2 weeks.

Boy was she right! Having that surgery was the single best thing I ever did for myself. I can not explain it. And I would have it over again in a heart beat. I had it lacroscopically so I only have 2 small incisions on my stomach. She did not take my ovaries so I still have my female hormones too.

The pain is gone and I never EVER have to worry about another period the rest of my life. Now I pass by the feminine protection isle and smile and wave.

If it is an option for you, I would say go for it. No pain ever EVER again due to TOM.
