This is working!

I had gestational diabetes with baby #1 and I had to track my food. I promised I would never do that to myself again. I wanted my baby to come quickly, mostly so I could stop tracking my food! I hated it. I cried over it. It made me miserable.
But with FitBit and MFP it's a whole new world!
Scanning foods & having a large database makes it simple. I love seeing in big numbers how many calories I can still eat. It seems to be opposite of what you can and cannot have, but rather what I STILL can have.
All my life weight came easy to me. I once saw somebody say they were a 'fat person stuck in a skinny body.' That sounds about right while I was in my 20s and early 30s. I ate what I wanted, as much as I wanted, and stayed in a size 5 pant.
After baby #1 my size 5 pants were large on me. After baby #2 I finally decided to buy 1 pair size 4 and they too were baggy on me. (I don't like to shop - I like to use until it can no longer be used.)
Then trauma after trauma for 3 years straight I went on antidepressants for 6 months. I bloated. I became the weight I was 2 weeks after birth, then I gained more. Along with it health problems.
I'll be honest, I'm only teetering on the "over weight" mark, but for the past 5 years it's felt like I've been giving everything I have to keep it right on the border, sometimes falling into the overweight, sometimes dropping back a smidge. My weight goal is to be smack in the middle of "healthy" range, so if I get sick & lose - no biggie, if I have stress and gain - no biggie.
I got the UP band for Christmas. It gave great feedback and got me excited about working hard again. Of course it broke after a a couple of months, but they did send me a new one - they have great customer service. Meanwhile my husband also wanted one himself and seeing the UP bands are no longer available he tried FitBit. It didn't sync correctly, he didn't trust the feedback so asked if I wanted to try it. I wore the UP and FitBit at the same time. Turns out the UP was tracking a lot more steps than the FitBit. I began to wonder how accurate the UP is seeing I had not lost any weight. I let my hubby know he must of messed up on the set up because it is working great for me. Now he has one himself & has lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks.
Through FitBit I found MFP. Now with the combination of these two sites I'm so motivated to move. If my lunch was a little higher in calorie then I hoped (like eating a piece of cake at an appreciation luncheon), I go workout BEFORE dinner. In other words, I earn the calories before I eat them.
The results - I have finally lost a few pounds!
