Visceral Fat vs. Subcutaneous Fat

Anyone know if visceral (deep fat around organs) fat is more dense than subcutaneous (close to the skin) fat? I guess my question really is how/if these types of fat differ and in what manner.

Don't know about density but in terms of health risks visceral fat is the worse of the 2.

Everybody has some. Ever eat a whole chicken before? Rip one apart and check out the rubbery fat inside the chest cavity. If you have too much visceral fat you'll have noticeable abdominal distension as well as some health problems like acid reflux and IBS, or, as I like to call it, volcanic assinosis.

Not sure, exactly. But, I have seen visceral fat on the heart and it looks just like chicken fat. It appears identical to the fat you'd see in a fatty abdomen.

I work in health care and am required to observe surgeries some times.

Reducing overall fat should reduce visceral and subcutaneous fat.
