Man, this forum says to drink 8 CUPS minimum of water a day. I set out 4 bottles of water on the counter to try to convince myself to drink that much in one day...I feel like I'm going to float away! How much do you guys drink in a day and does drinking the water really help you lose more weight? Maybe it's the extra trips to the bathroom, it counts as exercise! lol

Your body will get used to the added intake. The bathroom trips will lessen.
I drink 80-100 ounces a day, more if I exercise. It does make a difference, for a lot of reasons. You can Google the list of reasons. Go to mayo clinic or webMD.0 -
There is no science behind the 8 cups per day. The real goal is to make sure you are properly hydrated. Depending on what you eat, you may get a lot of fluid from food. The best advice I've ever seen is that if you are thirsty then drink. If you are not full hydrated (your urine is yellow or orange) then drink. If you are not thirst and full hydrated (urine is clear) then don't drink.
Some days I drink very little. Some days if I do a long workout I can drink up around 20 cups of water. Just depends on what is going on.0 -

My husband and I are die-hard water-hogs....
We both have a 64oz insulated travel mug. He fills his up as often as he can where he works a good 12-14 hr shift per day. He always has ice cold water at the bedside at night as well.
I have 16oz in the morning when I have breakfast and take my prescriptions.
My 64oz mug gets filled twice per day.
When I get home, I like to grab another 8oz glass of water...
When Im done eating for the day, Ill nurse another 8oz of water but never finish it - It definitely helps me avoid the snacking I used to do many years ago, at nighttime.
My Endocrinologist LOVES the fact I drink so much water... she tells me every time that she never has to worry about my staying adequately hydrated - but always wonders if a Urologist could be missing out on my bright personality! LOL!!!!!! Its just her way of saying she enjoys meeting with me for visits...0 -
I usually drink between 7 and 10 glasses each day. If I don't, I have terrible headaches...0

It's odd, but if I try to put all of my daily water requirements in a large jug or water bottle, I can't suck it down to save my life. So i drink a bunch of little glasses (regular old 8 ounce or 16 ounce cups/glasses) and it seems to work fine. I also am having better success NOT drinking ice cold water. For some reason, room temperature water goes down easier for me. I also add the juice from a lemon, orange, strawberry, etc to give a change of taste.
I've lost weight just changing my water habits and I feel cleaner on the inside. Bathroom trips did descrease after the first week or so for me. Drinking water is great for helping your body flush out toxins, oxygenating the blood, keeping your organs from pulling too much fluid out of bm's (no hard, dry stools here), etc. And, it's no calories.
I also drink a cup of water before I eat anything. Helps me feel full or sometimes not eat at all (sometimes, I had mistaken thirst for hunger).0
