This will be my second this year and since last year was my first, I am thinking of obtainable goals. I did last year in 2h 42 mins. I think I am aiming closer to 2 hours. I didn't train super well and I am in much better shape this year so far. What are your goals? How are you planning to train?

Not running that one this year, but the DisneyWorld Marathon was the first marathon I ran, on my 21st birthday. I will always have a special place in my heart for that race and place, can't lie.

Nothing to do with your topic, of course, just had to add, haha. I am doing a half in June, though, and I'm preparing a bit differently than I did with my other races. Before, I always focused on longer, slower, easier runs, and this time around, I'm focusing on shorter runs (not super short, but my short runs before were always a minimum of 5 or 6 miles - this time around, they're 2.5-4), but with more speed. Already, I've noticed that my longer distances are faster overall, and they feel easier.

I also switched to minimalist running, which has been a great change for me. It's brought back a of lot joy in my training, so I'm not dreading the runs any more. I'm aiming for a 2:15 for this half, since my last was just under 2:30.

    Good luck with yours! :)

I can't wait, it was so fun last year. :)

I am starting on the minimalist, but is it ok to do this long of a distance?

Not doing the half in Sept but preparing for the Full in January. I am running my third half May 20th and am planning for my first full to be the Savannah Rock and Roll in November - I want to see what my time is for that and my goal is to finish -- then set a time goal for Disney.

Best of luck to you in the half and meeting your time goals. My first two halfs were this year and two weeks apart. My training for them was not the best as most of my miles were on a treadmill due to the weather and daylight issues. I live in a safe part of town but I just prefer running when there is some light. In Atlanta I ran 2:38 and in Knoxville I ran a 2:36 on a more hilly course, so I was pleased. My goal for the Diva Half is to finish in under 2:30 but secretly I would like to see under 2:15 since it is such a flat course.
