To all of you who freaked out about upping your calories.... In my mind, I called you a pansy.
To all of you who said "I don't know if I can eat all of those calories".... In my mind, I told you to get real
To all of you who said "That's SO MUCH FOOD"..... In my mind, I said pffffft whatever

I just had to up my cals from 1800 to 2300 because I'm coming up on racing season, and I'm actually having anxiety! I mean, the scale is not budging at 1800 and I *know* in my mind it's because I'm not eating enough.

I'm working out 10-15hrs per week so I need the extra calories.

I'm a pansy who needs to get real and trust the process. Just sayin.

There's my public confession.... stone away.

Good for you! :) It is good to see someone who knows the ups and downs of this process and how hard it can be to drop or up the cals! :)

    Lol, so karma is real...

At least you were able to admit it though :)

If you're having trouble physically eating that much, I'd suggest adding flaxseed or chia seeds to your foods/drinks to bump up cals without filling you up too much. Also, peanut butter is great! Just one big spoonful (maybe with a bit of honey) can up your cals by a lot!

Petrified to up my calories more than I have. I mean eating is how I got fat! But tonight after working out harder than usual today I am hungry like true hunger. While the math makes sense and I know I won't gain it is that ingrained fear of going above and beyond again. Actually been fighting with myself all night because the body says feed me and the mind says no! And nope not thirsty or bored....tested both theories :)

I've been on this boat and my scale hasnt budged. I will say I feel the same way...food is how I got fat, BUT when I look at what I was eating and what I'm eating now...even if I eat tons of calories...its nowhere near the same. I am eating REAL nutrition from real food sources versus back when I would eat pastries for breakfast, coffee for lunch, and cake for dinner and dessert. I have been listening a lot to fat2fitradio.com podcasts and they help reassure me when I'm not being logical that the body must be fed approriately. I downloaded tons of the previous episodes and sometimes I'm more rational than others, but really I do believe its the way to go. Good luck and I know you'll be fine!

Thanks for the timely post chels and the response femmi1120. I have a problem getting enough calories in my diet on a daily basis and I've been trying to find a way to add high cal items into my diet without using fat. So the peanut butter is out but I'll look at the chia and flaxseed. Hopefully their fat content is less than peanut butter. I have problems digesting fats.

I totally felt the same way! But I recently upped my calories, and I've had bigger losses than ever before, so have faith! Good luck with your training :)

    ^This lol.

OP: Glad to hear you're upping!

I'm eating kinda everywhere right now but I haven't been below 1500 in a while (usually if I am the day before or after I am over). Gee my breakfast today was nearly that lol.

    Goodluck!
