Hi there!

I started running 3-4 times/week since almost 3 months now, around 35k/week. Since there is the Oasis Marathon in Montreal in September, I decided to start to train to run the half-marathon.

Does anyone has advices, any DO's and DON'Ts, gear I should get, etc?

Thanks everyone!!

DO get a good pair of running shoes (and not off the rack, get fitted)

DONT push yourself, take your time and take it easy.

The distance your running you shouldnt have any problems, so you should be just fine. Find a training plan that you think will work for you and follow it. Make sure to lower your distance (taper) and rest before the race.

The half marathon is 21K. You should try and build to a long run of around 25k without struggling. Race day you shouln't be concerned with the distance, only with how fast you are able to cover it. Between now and Sept is plenty of time to get there.
