I'm a very picky girl when it comes to certain foods. Eggs-gag, Milk-not my favorite, bananas-yuck, squash-don't think so..and so on and so on. So what can I substitute these healthy but yucky foods for?

OK - I used to be very similar but have "grown" out of it. Here are some things I used to do for substitutes or to work things in.

Bananas - Blend in smoothies. get one and cut into chunks and freeze it. Then blend 2 chunks w/ a big T of peanut butter, a cup of strawberry yogurt, a little spash of milk, and a handful of frozen berries - blend. thicker the less milk you add. can be like a frozen dessert - and you can add other things to cover the bananas (more PB or other berries, etc). Also= if you can't do the milk - use a little OK. Just watch out - these can add up in calories quick.

Protein - you don't have to like eggs. Stick w/ meat or legumes/beans. Or have a special K protein bar (processed but handy to keep in your purse, car or desk). Can be very filling - And if they taste too "chalky" due to the protein - I find a nice cup of coffee can help them taste better. Cottage cheese can also fit in the protein category - it's a "two-fer" (2 for 1).

Milk - Coffee is a great way to sneak in some milk - add a splenda or stevia packet and instant home-latte. You can also get your dairy in with cheese or cottage cheese, or yogurts... yum.

Squash - I had to get some Tones Cinnamon-Maple sprinkles to help it - and that was a step down from the butter and brown sugar I used to have to eat with it.

Salad - I NEVER used to like it - now I have to watch out I don't eat it so much I burn out on it so I get really creative w/ toppings (new fave is blue cheese crumbles, dried cherries, almond slivers, on baby spinach...mmm). Anyway - I had to start out with just lettuce, croutons, and LOTS of ranch. Then I graduated to being able to eat Olive Garden's salad (dripping in their dressing).

You can still survive on other basics (corn, peas, carrots, potatoes) and just take a multivit and calcium supplement daily to fill in gaps.

If I had more specifics about what you WILL eat - I might have more ideas of combos and how to sneak things into your diet.
I guess I'm saying... DON'T GIVE UP! Just get creative and try new combos. GOOD LUCK!
