Calories burned by walking so many steps

How can I calculate calories burned by the number of steps I take? I know there are roughly 2000 steps in a mile, so after I calculate how many miles I walk over the course of the day (via pedometer), how can I figure out how many calories I burned? I usually walk at a slow pace but sometimes work is busy so I walk at a more moderate pace. Any thoughts would be most appreciated...thank you! :smile:
