MAUI!!!! (talk about motivation!!!)

So last week, I found out my best friend from my school days is getting married in MAUI in late August. Miraculously this week, it looks like I'll be there to witness it!
This is my first trip to Hawaii, and I am beyond excited and MOTIVATED to look as great as possible on those beautiful beaches!!! Any tips (fitness and fun alike!) on can't misses while we're there?? We're trying to travel on a budget, so will be renting a condo with a kitchen.
The wedding is August 21, and I'm somewhere in the middle of my weight loss journey. I'm wondering if aiming for 15 pounds gone by then is reasonable??

Aloha there! Congrats on the trip to Maui! I live in Hawaii (Oahu) and there are tons of outdoor activities from hiking, snorkling, ziplining and surfing! You'll have a blast!
I think 15lbs in two months might be cutting it close, but why not try!?!? I'm sure now that you have this extra motivation you'll do great! Just think positive! Good luck!0 -
I was in Oahu in January 3 years ago. Take plenty of money because the cost of living is really HIGH. Like milk was $6.00 a gallon. You will probably do really well if you like fruits and vegetables, which I love. Actually the place we stayed at had a breakfast buffet and I ate so much pineapple that by the 3rd day I had to stop because I had sores in my mouth  but it was WAY worth it.
I loved it. There are no bugs!!!! Really. We could open the sliding doors without a screen. The beaches are so clean.
I'm jealous.0 -
Congratulations! That is exciting. If it were me, I would definitely take advantage of the fruit and fresh fish out there. I also recommend letting yourself enjoy some of the local specials even if they are a bit naughty, just because I think it will help reinforce that this is a lifestyle change, not a "diet". Living healthier also means using some of those discretionary calories to enjoy the variety that life has to offer! Not saying you should go completely off your program while you are there, but just feel free to enjoy a couple coconut shrimp or a bite of wedding cake!0

That is exciting! I'd love to go back! I'd say you can drop 15 pounds by then, especially given this new-found motivation! Go for it! Chart your course and start that 15 pound journey! Aloha!:flowerforyou:0
