Good afternoon!
((I do hope this is in the right spot, but I apologize in advance if it's not.))
About 10 days ago, I found the 'In Place of a Road Map' thread. I upped my calories because I was severely under-eating and, well, slacking all around. I want to do this journey as correctly as possible, so I started there.
I changed my regime from nothing to this:
____________________________________________________________________
M/W/F: Hour of cardio and machine weights
T/Th: Half an hour of cardio (I ended up doing more weights somedays..)
Eating: 1400-1700 NET
____________________________________________________________________
I've been seeing an uprising of threads supporting pure strength training/weights as a means of lowering BF% (which is my goal.) However, I'm unsure how to recalibrate my calorie consumption to accommodate for these changes. So, here I am, seeking advice from all of you lovely folks who have 'been there' and 'done that' and feel like sharing their little pearls of wisdom.
My questions:
1) How does pure strength training affect basic caloric intake needs? Do I need to eat more than when I was doing cardio or less, or does it even matter.
2) How long should I rest between sessions? Right now, I'm working out 5 days a week with a cardio/weight mix. Is this too much? Too little?
3) Do you have any other tips or suggestions for me based on personal experiences? I'd very much appreciate it.
If you want to respond to me here or send me a note, I'd be happy to discuss it.
Thank you for reading!
