People who take pictures of their food...

Food porn. I shows off their cooking skills, gives others ideas and is way better than some of the horrible things I see people post on social media sites (read: drama, inappropriate pics...etc...)0

I post pictures of my food all the time! Whether a restaurant has a beautiful presentation, or I am really proud of a dish I made... cooking is an art, and I love food, so why not?
This. I do it all the time!0 -
I do that ALL the time to show my friends that I am eating healthy.0
-
only post pix of food I make when it looks surprisingly delicious.0
-
I do it sometimes but only if I'm cooking something I think is wow, until i started trying to get the weight off I use to go to some top end restaurants and use to take pics there too, I'm just a complete foodie I suppose.0
-
We do that on AR15.com too... the only rule is you must post pics of a weapon(s) along with the food...0

When I make something ridiculously amazing from scratch, you better believe I'm rubbing in in everyone's face and making them hungry. Girl's gotta show off her skillzzz.0

i do if i bake something pretty??? am i guilty!!?? lol0

I have friends who do that... I like it. I would probably do it too if my food looked pretty and I wasn't too lazy to take a picture!0

This is my pizza.
I made this pizza with my own hands.
I am proud of my pizza.
Love my pizza!

I love food porn! No, seriously, I use it as an excuse to practice my photography. Personally I'd rather see food pictures than a billion badly taken self pictures. Not to mention the friends I have who post literally every single picture they take. This includes the ones of their fingers and badly blurred shots of what I can only assume is the lawn.

Do you have any friends on Facebook or other sites who are always posting pictures of their food? What they ate yesterday, what they're about to eat, etc.?
I don't get it. Why do people do this?
Some of us like food: the way it looks, the way it's presented, the way it tastes, the way it smells, etc. Why does it bother you so much?0 -
I make really awesome looking food. I always decorate my plate or cook weird stuff so I like to show my friends. I make money off of it so it is a great idea.0

I post food pictures on Face Book all the time and never feel the need to justify why.
The real question would be "why don't you?"0 -
I can't imagine why anyone would find this strange. People like to share pictures of what interests them. Parents are going to share photos of their kids. Dog lovers are going to share photos of their dogs. Geeks are going to share photos of their computers / geek toys. Crafters are going to share photos of their crafts. Foodies are going to share photos of their food. And photographers are going to share photos of EVERYTHING.
If you're not interested, don't look.0 -

I especially like being tagged in your foor pr0n, lol. I love seeing my friends food!!! I admit I'm a huge foodie, but I also think that food is beautiful and new tasty ideas NEED to be shared.0 -
There must be something to it when we're on part 16 of this thread

I don't take photos of actual meals, though I do post photos of things I've baked on Facebook. I'm such a tease. :P0
-
I make my own recipes and take pictures for my files. I also take pics when someone wants to know what my version of any recipe looks like. On the other hand, I would never take my camera to a restaurant and take photos of what I am eating. Just what I make myself. If a person has nothing better to do than to criticize something this petty, they probably need a hobby.. maybe photography.0

I'm not angry. I'm just asking why people do it. :flowerforyou: I've never, ever taken a picture of my food before. Ever.
maybe you should try it!
I photograph my homemade stuff because I like to show people that homemade is where it's at. I even make my own mayonnaise. I usually only post things that I think someone would have interest in seeing and I don't think I've ever posted something I've had made for me.0 -

I do. I have to for my schooling and I like to share them with other foody friends.
On the other hand, I know a girl who has the inability to take a good picture of food. She is the only person I know who can make cake look disgusting. Hopefully she uses her Nikon D3000 for something better than food photos, because she just doesn't have what it takes to make it appetizing. :ohwell:0 -
I used to do this, and it was great. I took nice pictures of the lovely food I cooked. My FB friends loved it too. It's a shame, because I haven't been bothered to cook for a few weeks now, and it was motivating to admire my handiwork. I don't know about anyone else's reasons, but I done it because I was proud of my handiwork, it looked nice and I wanted to share it with my Facebook friends0

I took a picture of my food once to make my friends jealous :-D0

I do this. The kitchen is my sanctuary. when I make something Im proud of or just looks amazing - I take a picture of it and post it. My friends are always asking me to come cook for them. I have a friend who is a foody and eats these lavish meals almost every day. He takes pictures of everything that crosses his lips. Now that gets annoying.0

By taking pictures of your food you can keep better track of how much your eating over time. I like to read Eat Like Me on self. It is a blog that shows what a nutritionist eats daily.0

Im guilty of doing that on occasion if I make something really yummy looking...0
