Hello,
I have bad asthma and everytime I excersise I get out of the breathe so quickly and it is really embaressing!
I have a gym membership and I really wamt to use it much more as I am very overweight and very unfit, but that combined with the asthma is getting me down.
Any ideas what I could do to get to this gym with my head held high and my lungs full of air?!

Don't worry about what other people may think of you , do it for yourself! If you know that going to the gym is the right thing to do than do it, just always take your inhaler and drink alot of water! You will feel nine hundred times better about yourself once you start going !0

Start slow and build up. Don't worry about what other people might be thinking, they really aren't thinking what you think they are, anyways. Don't move too fast or try too hard, you will get there!0

My husband suffered asthma for years and years. He now doesnt need medication at all, mainly because he is so fit now (gradually working his fitness up from being warned about dying early a few years back).
But also from switching our diet to eliminate crap and where possible eating organically. It has been a MAJOR success point in his health.
Remember too, that so many people suffer asthma and beat it. Kieren Perkins, one of the greatest distance swimmers Australia has produced was "prescribed" swimming due to his chronic asthma. Swimming is a GREAT way to train your lungs to be more efficient.0 -
start slow and light you don't have to be out of breath and muscles figged to be making progress. I know a guy that started out with the stretchy bands and built up as long as you are using your muscles and moving you are going in the right direction and making progress I don't believe any of us here make progress as fast as we would like to it takes time no matter where you start0
