Hitting the fats part of my macro

Is it important? I've got mine set to 44g for 1600 cals a day, but quite often I don't hit more than 30. I know that SOME fat is important, I'm just wondering if not hitting that zero there will effect anything at all?
Title should read: macroS. Plural. Stupid self.

Low fat isn't a necessarily bad thing, but healthy fats do a play a part in how your body processes and digests food (often people that are constipated need more fat in their diet) and the healthy fats are also the ones that contain HDL cholesterol, which the body uses to get rid of plaque deposits on blood vessels. They can also help with mental stuff like your mood, so it shouldn't be a normal thing.
If you need help getting healthy fats into your diet try stuff like nuts (almonds are my favorites), avocado, salmon, tuna, flax seed, and olive oil. Add just a few of those things into your diet each day and you'll find that it's pretty easy to hit your fat levels.0 -
I find when I don't eat a lot of fat my skin gets dry and my hair starts to get grassy looking. I love fat, it's delicious. Just because there's fat in something doesn't mean it will make YOU fat. Not that we should have gigantic amounts of it either. That being said I eat to much of it. Need to take in more healthy fats like nuts, eggs, coconut (nice because it has medium chain fatty acids) and less...buttered popcorn *ugh for today*0

44g for 1600 calories is good. I try to hit around 60g and I eat from 1600 to 2400 calories depending on my TDEE that day. Fat is a required macro (for vital bodily functions), and I'd be more concerned with NOT getting enough that getting too much... sounds like you don't have to worry at all about getting too much.0 -

This....... Coconut oil, avocados, salmon, eggs, nuts, nut butters, olives - all good options for getting some gorgeous healthy fats into your diet......0 -
It is important to get the right healthy fats into your diet - one reason apart from 'bad' fats not being good for you is that there are 9 calories in a gram of fat as opposed to 4 calories each for protein and carbs so you can see too much fat ups your calorie intake twice as fast!0
