Yes that is pretty normal weight gain for before a period, or just a general fluctuation. Yes it is annoying, but pay it no mind. To gain 5lbs in a week you would need to eat 17500 calories above your TDEE which would be roughly 31500 calories in one week. Do you think you ate 31500 calories?0

I had a similar experience a couple of days ago. Thing is, I haven't had a period in 14 months, so I can't blame that. Any ideas?0

Some people just retain water badly (me!) And I can look pregnant because of it
but I discovered a natural diuretic recently by fluke. I started drinking more herbal teas to increase my water intake and bought on with cinnamon, licorice and fennel. The first night after having one I woke up a few times to pop to the loo, woke up next morning with a virtually flat stomach! Looked online and both licorice and fennel are natural diuretics! so whenever I'm bloated now I have a cup of that tea and next day I look much better!

If I eat too much sodium, I will gain like crazy. Most recently it was 8 lbs. This whole process is like a roller coaster. Just buckle up and enjoy the ride.
It'll sort itself out eventually.0
