Starting the thread. . .

Today it just looks like I'll get some walking in. I have to teach (probably? who knows anymore?) and then I have three appointments on campus.

I really hope I can get a real schedule by the end of the day, and there aren't any more changes. I am a creature of planning, and frankly this is playing tricks with my mental health.

Other goals today are eating my healthy snacks that I'm about to pack, and staying resilient and upbeat! (very hard, as I've actually had the impulse to drop out for the first time since I've been here the past few days) But, as Scarlett O'Hara said: "As God is my witness, they're not going to lick me." (sorry, that was my Mother's favorite movie, so I know it by heart.)

Great job with the running, MM. Soon you'll be a pro!

Take care of ourselves boogaloo!:flowerforyou:

So I guess MM and I are trying to catch up to AD and CP. We have a lot of work to do, MM. 2 of my 6 miles yesterday were jogging.

I'm having a hard time deciding what kind of cardio for today, will go to yoga tonight though.

So is the plot any thicker V?

    New joggers boogaloo!

    I posted while you were re-writing, V.

My MIL favorite movie is Gone with the Wind as well. Maybe we should introduce them. I really hated that movie.

It's working! I am starting to notice a little difference in my clothes! The scale says I am up like 2 pounds though. :grumble: I tell myself it's muscle.
I would like to get some exercise in today, but I don't think that's going to happen. Today may be kind of a flop, but I will do my best.
    Today is:
    horse therapy
dr. appointment (finally. Wanting to get it over with and see if anything is wrong with me. )
inlaws may or may not go home today
    church tonight
V, I hope you get things worked out today.
Mary, I hope your cardio and yoga go well today.
    Have a good day!

I have a love/hate relationship with it. I watch it now about once a year (if it happens to be on TV, I find I can't help myself) and the whole time I watch it, I seethe at the racism and think "no wonder I messed up so much with men. . .this is the most flawed role model ever." But still, I watch. . .what can I say. . .I like fancy dresses.

I just want to say, I really enjoy checking in with you lovely people.

MM and Mary - way to go on the jogging! You are doing great. I'll do some sort of cardio after work, but I think I will stick with running only once a week (which I did on Monday). Probably it will be elliptical - although I haven't been to aerobics class in a long time (I stopped when my knee was bothering me - jumping around and changing direction didn't seem to help). I think I need to find a new activity. I'll have a walk after lunch, too - and then more laundry at home.

My attitude is a little better today. It's too bad that we can get thrown so off-kilter sometimes by somebody's comment, or something not going right. And V, I really sympathize and hope your schedule is finalized soon - limbo is not a fun place to be. MM - good luck at the doc!

    Hump day boogaloo! :flowerforyou:

Hi All! Took a day or two off from logging. It's been kind of nonstop action over here!

The ratings for Whale Wars were GREAT -- up almost 20% from last year and it was #1 on cable. Woooo hooooo! And I've been hanging out with Doug, the new guy, almost every night. All good things!

    Today:
~ Get back into logging the calories
~ Vitamins -- need to research vitamins too
    ~ No alcohol
~ Haven't decided on my cardio either. Maybe a nice long walk while listening to an NPR podcast?
~ NEED to get to yoga this week

I'm trying to keep my mind busy since it's almost time for me to go to the doc. I haven't worn my jeans in a couple of weeks, and I put them on and they fit comfortably! They've been tight. They are the kind that stretch a bit after wearing them, so I know that they will feel loose later. I am feeling pretty good about what I am doing and I am hoping I can stick with it. I am going to try not to look at the scale at the doc. It won't help.
I hate waiting. lol. Why did I have to get ready so early?

Well that was pretty much a waste of time and money. I am finding that doctors really aren't that helpful anymore. Maybe there are problems with people's bodies now that didn't exist a few years ago and doctors don't know how to fix them. Anyway, the doctor basically said I'm fine and I am just getting old. Gee, thanks. I needed to hear that right before my birthday. I still don't think that explains my odd cycles and three miscarriages. :grumble: It was no help and I am frustrated. I should be happy that "nothing" is wrong. I'm just old. I didn't feel old until she told me that. Now I feel old.
I am going to keep praying about it. I know God knows what's wrong and He can fix it better than a doctor anyway. Oh and I guess the only way to straighten up my cycle is to get on birth control. Uh, no. :noway: It makes me sick. We're not going there.
I think I am done venting. I think.

You're not old. And, God can fix it better than a doctor. And, vent all you want.:flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou:

Got to the bottom of many things today, and it seems possible that I can get a scholarship to cover most of my tuition.
Also, discovered that since I've lived in Canada for six months, I'm eligible to apply to be a landed immigrant (one step below citizenship) something else to ask the lawyer about Friday. (If I am landed, I pay lower (much lower) tuition.)
    Getting answers boogaloo.:flowerforyou:
