Since the rule is to eat back all the exercise calories, if one exercises, it becomes harder to meet the initial net goal ...

As a consequence, what is the best choice :
1. Stop exercice, in order to regularly attain the Daily Net Goal, or
2. Change goals by lowering weigh loss objective, and keep exercising

Thanks for your comments

I wouldn't recommend stopping the exercise.

If you are struggling with the way MFP is set up with regards to eating execrcise calories, then go to a site that includes your exercise calories in your TDEE and manually set your MFP allowance to the new numbers.

You could try - http://www.skinbodyfitness.com/bmr_bmi_bfp.htm which will tell you your calorie requirements and then you take a 15-20% deficit from it (or 500c per lb)

or try http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ which advises you to eat at the maintenance calories of your goal weight.

You then won't have to worry about the exercise calories.

If you eat back your exercise calories, you are still attaining the same goal. If you want to lose 1 pound a week, you eat back the exercise calories which keeps the same amount of deficit. If you don't eat the calories back it creates a bigger deficit, which can either allow for more weight loss or slow weight loss if it's too big of a gap.

Don't give up exercise, please! It is extremely important for all things related to health. If you cut out the exercise, your body is more likely to use more than just fat for energy. It will also take it from your muscle, making your metabolism slower (so you'd have to eat even less).

I think you should lower your weight loss objective and keep exercising. You'll get to your goal eventually! Plus, by exercising you will be in much better health, feel stronger, and not be skinny fat (you'll like the way your body looks more than if you stop exercising)

    Carim,
There are several answers: #1 and #2 and a third option. (first off remember there are no rules - only things that work for some and things that work for others)

I did NOT eat back my exercise. I attained 2.5 lbs per week for 8 weeks with NO muscle loss.
I completely ignored MFP's caloric suggestions - they are designed for typical calorie in - calorie out burners. If you are eating paleo/primal, the rules are more about getting enough protein, the correct kinds of carbs and only quality fats.
I only looked at my grams of protein and carbs.

For me... I lifted often and exercised often in order to maintain muscle mass while burning fat exclusively. I could have not exercised and still lost weight, but would have been skinny-fat and lost muscle mass in the meantime.

Thanks to each one of you for your very valuable insights ...

    Mike,

I do have to admit my total ignorance about the paleo/primal diet ...
So, as an initial step, i am going to document myself as much as possible to evaluate if it could match my lifestyle

absolutely document. I tracked everything - just didn't do it to count calories.
