Muscle Rub

So in light of my recent trips to the weight room at the local YMCA I thought I'd share a story with my friends at MFP.

When I was a freshman in Highschool I started lifting weights frequently for the first time in my life (having alot to do with Bulldawg football camp that I was attending in Copperas Cove Texas). I had done squats before but thought since I was becoming a part of an excellent football team that I should push myself twice as hard and up the weight quite a bit. I did 5 reps of 230 and felt like my legs were jello after I racked the weight. So after two a days were over I'm sitting at home at my computer playing Diablo 2 for a good majority of my evening, I decide I'm thirsty and need a drink. NOT A GOOD IDEA, as soon as I move from the sitting position I feel the worst tearing/burning pain I've ever felt in my life that leaves me all but incapable of lifting myself out of the chain without pushing myself up with my arms.

A couple hours later after warming up the muscles and gritting my teeth through the strained muscle pain I decide after taking my shower that it would be a good idea to put some muscle rub on my quads to ease the pain. So about 10 minutes later I'm laying in bed enjoying the cool/warm relief of the muscle rub on my legs, when to my horror I feel a horrible burning sensation on the far more sensative region just north of my quads. So in my best crippled effort I wrestle myself out of bed and wobble into the bathroom and in a wild rage completely forget the rule that you NEVER EVER EVER EVER put water on the spot thats burning. So now I'm "running" frantically around the bathroom with a towel trying to fan this region to get the now nearly unbearable burning to cease. Finally after about 10 minutes it eases up and suddenly I can hear laughing at the door. So I open it to find my entire family standing at the door laughing.

I worked out yesterday and my quads were killing me last night, needless to say I suffered through the pain. Thats one experiance I do not want to re-visit.

Have a good day :)

Its funny looking back at it but it REALLY sucked at the time. I assume its similar in feeling to the effects of pouring dry ice on your crotch. Not very pleasent
