any 6 inch subway sandwich without mayo or dressings is pretty good but that's more of a meal not a snack.

panda express is my go-to fast food place.

For Panda express, if you opt out of the rice or pasta they have a huge side of mixed veggies for 70 cal and anything there that has a "wok smart" sticker is under 250 cal. My favorites are string bean chicken, mushroom chicken, and kobari beef. Generally if i order there, i get a panda bowl with mixed veggies and string bean chicken. Total cals are 220-230. Sodium is crazy though, so i only occasionally.

    Also subway

How about trying a deli. Real fresh ingredients, you tell them exactly what you want and it's just as fast as fast food, but without all the additives and you'll be fuller for longer too. Plus you can put it directly into MFP before you even go if you want to work out the calories.

If possible try and avoid fast food. I think it's always disappointing, unless you are drunk or hungover. Even in those circumstances I have started to find it disappointing.

I like nestle breakfast essentials. While it isn't from a fast food chain, it is delicious and quick!

If I had to get something that would fall into a 'fast food' category, it's usually subway. 6in turkey, no mayo, no cheese, loaded with veggies on the lowest calorie bread (it's the wheat or it's the grain italian one I think) Sometimes I add the Vinaigrette to it.

Otherwise I have given up on the drive thru entirely.

Mcdonalds ice cream cone-- 150 cals!!
  • I don't trust myself to make a low calorie choice anywhere except Subway. Right now they are doing a 2 for 1 promo before 9am. I got a breakfast sub with egg whites and ham and got a turkey for lunch. The egg white omelet on wheat with ham and no cheese is 310 calories, turkey on wheat is 280.

I often get a hamburger Happy Meal at McDonald's. I am only writing in, really, to let you know that many of the companies have a "build your meal" on their websites. You could look at that to get a few favorites. It's really handy, and I love looking at what a slice of cheese or a bun can add to calorie intake!!

Subway for sure... you kind of can't go terribly wrong. Especially since they have their healthy choice menu.

I really love the Carl's Jr Apple, Walnut, Grilled chicken salad (360 calories) and ( I know you suggested not advising anything from home, but I keep a bottle of Sugar Free Vinaigrette by Walden Farms from Walmart... very inexpensive and only 20 calories!!). If you choose the raspberry vinaigrette from Carl's Jr its 160 calories, so your total for lunch will be 480 cals.
By the way.. the salad is a huge portion (in my opinion) and very filling... I love it!!

Always check for nutritional info at places. I have a few fast food places I refuse to go because of the calorie content. When in doubt a salad or kids meal is generally a good choice.

Where I struggle is finding nutritional info for some sit down restaurants..so if hubby and I have a date night at somewhere I can't find I generally save up for the evening or workout stupid hard that day so I have extra calories
