Working out when you're sick?

Do you? How sick do you have to be before you flag it?

I can feel a head cold coming on (I know because my kids have it) found my aerobics quite hard going this morning and went for a brisk 40min walk on my lunchbreak with a friend (not concerned that I'm any imminent danger from this), but I have a run planned for tomorrow, I find running quite hard at the best of times and don't want to make myself sicker or prolong recovery.

I have a trip away on Thursday and don't want to end up sicker that I'm going to be but also don't want to use having a cold as an excuse not to work out!

I exercise when I'm sick, usually call it if I have to run to the bathroom more than once every 20 minutes for anything. If you want to exercise and feel up to it exercise, if you feel that your body is too sick or tired to do it don't push it. The best thing you can do is to let your body tell you what it needs.

as a general rule of thumb, if you have symptoms from the neck up, it should be fine. symptoms from the neck down (usually soreness), you should take a break.
