wii fit calories

I have just found a web site that will calculate calories burned based upon your weight. It also has a pull-down bar so you can choose which exercise. I don't have a HRM so I don't know how accurate it is, however, it gives me some idea of the calories burned. I am using it to log my Wii fit exercises. Hope this helps! Let me know how accurate you think it is!

Hey, thanks for that! I wish they had caloric info for EA Active Sports and/or Wii sports. I have been doing Wii Sports for going on 2 weeks now and Wii Active since Monday and WOW does it make me sweat/make my muscles sore!0

I have WII Active and when I created my profile it asked my weight, height, etc. It tells me during and after the excersise how many calories I'm burning, burned. Are they really off, do we need to re-count?0

From what I have read, the calories listed on Active tend to be lower than we are actually burning. Apparently, Active only records calories burned for the exercises itself, not when we are resting in between exercises (but our heart rate is still up and burning cals).
I keep up with the EA Sports Active forum and I've seen a few people mention up to a calorie burn ratio of 3.75:1 when they use their heart rate monitors while using doing Active workouts, compared to only going by what the game says. Others notice a 50-100 calories (more) difference.
But HRMs are pretty expensive so....0 -

You know, I don't know if you are off because I don't have Wii Active. However, I have read that the calorie counters on exercise equipment is higher than actual. I have read it is recommended that you put in a lower weight than you really are so that the count isn't so high. I take off 10 pounds from my weight when I log it into the machine.
Maybe this will help?0 -
Well, I guess that's good news (that I'm burning more calories than I think...) Maybe I won't change it and fool myself not to eat that 50-100 cal. No wonder I'm losing weight!0
