Ok. I have a huge tub of that Muscle Milk in my cupboard. Its orange flavored and my husband left it for me when he deployed. First, is it even worth drinking the stuf If Im only doing Moderate cardio and mild weight trainning? Im pretty sure its high in calories and I dont wanna waist my cals if its nopt worth it. Also, when is the best time to take it, before or after a work out? How much? Start smaller and work up to larger amounts? And does anyone have good recipes ideas? My husband mixes his with yogurt and milk but I tried it and thought it tasted gross. lol. But please, any ideas? Also, any ideas about eating before and after work outs, cardio and weight trainning, would be much appreciated. I try to eat carbs before and protien after, but Im not quite sure. Thanks!

If you don't need the extra calories, then stick with whatever you're currently eating (assuming it's healthy and that you're eating all your calories).

if you're interested in protein I would recommend a whey protein that is low carb and has bcaa (branch chain amino acids). Dont take it just because it's there though. Do some research and find something for you. I use Isoflex and it's great.

I started using Body Fortress cookies n cream from walmart recently. It contains whey protein to help me make up for some extra protein. It's cheap, it works. It also contains a small amount of creatine monohydrate which has bulked me up a bit (water weight).

Warning though, there is a remote possibility the creatine is bad for you as a supplement, so there are possibly better choices. Do some research if you want, I personally am not worried about it. It gives me some extra muscular definition which I kind of like.
