Okay fellow myfitnesspals I am seriously soooo excited right now! I live in beautiful Charleston, SC and live about 4 blocks from "the third longest among cable-stayed bridges in the Western Hemisphere" (throwing in a little facts for ya:laugh: ) I had only gone twice before and both times gone with other people; maybe to ease the looks that I thought I would get. Anyway, today I woke up and said "I am going to walk the bridge today." ...So I did...In fact, I actually ran some of it...Granted, it wasn't for very long, and it was downhill...but I'm down playing the magnitude of this accomplishment! I mean I used to feel so self-conscious about even walking in the day light....and Now I am RUNNING!!!
I am sooo excited!!! Oh and did I forget to mention the bridge is roughly 5.4 miles both ways?!?! It's a beast!

Great news. I started the same way by walking and then jogging the downhills. In three months I now jog 3 miles almost every day. Stick with what you are doing!!!

As an engineer, I say "Awesome bridge!" As somebody losing weight and working out, I say "Even more awesome NSV!" Congrats :)
