How long did it take you from stopping the contraceptive pill until you got pregnant?

My mum said it took her 2 months only. This is my first month and my period is late. I should have had it today and should have felt abdominal pain days before, but nothing... when I did a test it was negative :frown:

That's different for everyone. It took me 7 months. Some of my friends, the second they stopped, they got pregnant. I have one friend going on 2 years of being off BCPs & she still hasn't gotten pregnant.

When I went off BCPs, my cycles went nuts (from anywhere between 22 & 46 days). If you still don't see your period in 4 or 5 more days, you might want to take another test. Do you have any other symptoms of PMS?

Oh dear I hope I dont have to wait as long as your friends... :frown:

No I dont have other symptoms. Usually the light tummy cramps is all I get. But nothing so far. :ohwell:

I got pregnant almost instantly! But imo, if you were supposed to start today, it may be too soon for the test to pick up the pregnancy. Or your hormones are out of whack and your period will be too. Be patient, if no period in another week, test again. Good luck!

I hope not, too! She's been tested for everything under the sun & it keeps coming back "normal". :ohwell:

Give yourself some time to get used to being off BCPs. I know it is frustrating & you want it to happen now, but your hormones sometimes need time to figure out what they're doing. Try not to worry about it too much (easier said than done, I know I know).

    Good luck to you! :flowerforyou:

I got pregnant the first month with my first child and then it took almost 9 months with my second. You just never know. Their birthdays are only 2 days apart so maybe my body only likes being pregnant in the summer, lol.

I got pregnant with both of my kids while ON the pill. First time I was on antibiotics (this was 21 years ago and I don't think that was widely known then) the second just happened. I was that lucky 1% that it didn't work for.

If you can't get preggers by the end of the year you may want to go to a fertility specialist (most of the time it's because your mans' little men just aren't swimming). My hubby and I haven't used birth control ever...we only have one kid (I had her when I was 18)....I'm now 24 and still no other baby. It all depends upon genetics. Anyhoo....wishing you 'luck' :blushing:

I went off the pill in October and got pregnant in December. I took several pregnancy tests each week  but I didn't get a "positive" until the day I should've started my period.
