does cooked bacon have fewer calories?

When I look at the site's database, I always see what I consider to be such a low number for 1 slice of bacon, 42 calories. The packaging says way more (I don't have the package anymore, I live alone so I froze each slice individually to eliminate the excuse of "I have to eat it or it'll go bad"). It got me wondering, does cooking the fat out reduce the number of calories? I'm not asking because I want to pig out, I just want to have an accurate picture of my calorie intake.

The label reflects the calories for cooked bacon.

Many entries in the database are low or high. If you can't find one that is the same as your label, edit one in the database already. Or add a new one.

If you edit or add a new one, you will be able to find it in MY FOODS after that. Otherwise you have to find one every time. Very irritating with things like bacon.

Oh......Regular sliced bacon is usually 70-90 calories for two slices. Thick cut bacon is about that for one slice.
