For lunch - I had 5 sugar snap peas, 8 baby carrots, a handful of califlower and broccoli tops... with some ranch. it went with my lean cheeseburger. yum for starters!! but my question is - How do I count a handful of this or 5 pea pods or 8 baby carrots? I would think the calories would be so low - not worth counting.... plus its not the veggies that got me into this "mess" to begin with. LOL. What and How does everyone else count their calories for veggies?

Side note: I am learning that I love sugar snap peas with a wedge of laughing cow cheese! I also love salsa with 1 serving of those Almond Thin Nut Crackers - yum yum yum!!!

Thanks Everyone!

I'd just find a "sugar snap peas mix" in the database and add one serving. You're right, the actual calories are negligible, but it's nice to keep track of how many veggies you are eating, and the nutrients from them are important in the scheme of things.

I must admit I do add all my fruit & veg individually if I have only had 3 cherry tomatoes for lunch then I add them as they add to my daily goals and would save me eating the calories I would have counted in there place. I also think its a good way of seeing how far in a day you do go towards your 5 a day.

If the veggie is available on the pick list in individual units, I do count, but I don't stress about it. I guess-timate in cups usually.

    yup, what they said ^^
I just pick a small measurement. Some things in the database will let you choose "1 carrot" or 1/4 cup so i go with that, or even choose .5 servings of it.

Get a kitchen scale and weigh solid foods and measure liquids.

I add as much as I possibly can, even if it's 1 carrot stick, or two cucumber slices. If I ate it, I try to log it. And veggies can add up.
