I'm having the hardest time finding jeans for my short little legs w/o spending a small fortune. So ladies, where do you get your "short" jeans at a reasonable price?

I'm 5'1" and wear a size 12/14.... don't know if that's plus sized per se... but I buy Lee's brand jeans... seriously, they are the best at fitting on my big booty and my smaller waist.

Thank you! I'm currently around sz 20.
  • What is your body type?

I am an apple with tiny little legs and not big hipped, but I am 5'2 and i now wear everything from an 8 to a 16 lol. i was 14-20.

So, obviously I try a lot of different styles and sizes to find one that fits corectly. I also almost always have to have jeans hemmed. I just take them right away and get them done or they sit around forever!

Gap has ankle length and you can get those up to 14 in the store and I beleive up to 18 online. I found Layne Bryant to be too big in the legs/butt area most of the time for me unless it was a legging. I found Silver jeans to be some of my favorites....I just get them hemmed.

I have also decided that a muffin top is inevitiable because of my body type (small legs, normal hips and big tummy). If I get pants that fit around my stomach, they fall down all the time and/or they are HUGE everywhere else, so I get them a bit tight (but comfortable still) around the waist and I wear shirts that are not tight against me and when needed, I wear a body smoother chemise (from DressBarn0 that helps to smooth things out more.

Good luck! I am still searching for the perfect jean.

    Love Silver Jeans!

Also, Levi's has "Curve ID" jeans that fit well. YOu can select a variety of hip/leg/waist ratios and also select a variety of lengths. I ordered a bunch from their website to see what worked then returned what didn't. Was so worth the trouble! Unfortunately, their site rarely has my best fit in stock, AND, while many stores have Curve ID, jeans now they never have them in my fit.

Maurice's has good jeans for curvy women.

Also, since I'm short, I sometimes have good luck in the plus juniors section (shhh! don't tell Stacey and Clinton). But even so, when I need a new pair in a hurry, I end up going to the tailor for alterations.

Thanks ladies! I'm a total pear. Big ol bootay and thick thighs. Jeans shopping is the WORST THING EVER. I can never find anything that fits right. The thought of getting them altered never occured to me...d'oh.
