Had any experience with having them done? Consider it worth it?

BodPod Test – this test measures your body composition, or more specifically, what percent of your body is made up of fat mass versus fat-free mass (i.e. muscle, bones, water, etc). For this test, you will sit in an egg-shaped chamber for approximately 2 minutes while your body composition is measured, and you will wear a spandex outfit with a swim cap.

RMR/BodPod – the RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) test measures the amount of energy (calories) your body needs at rest for an entire day. For this test, you will lie down comfortably in a dark area while breathing into a mask for 30-minutes. From the data collected during this time period, we will calculate your RMR value. The BodPod test is described above.

Full Performance Test (VO2max, Lactate Threshold, BodPod) – In addition to the BodPod test, this package includes measurement of your maximal oxygen uptake, or VO2max, during an incremental treadmill running protocol to exhaustion. You will wear a mask during the test, as well as a portable metabolic system that will measure the amount of oxygen you breathe in and the amount of carbon dioxide you exhale during exercise. VO2max is the maximal amount of oxygen that is able to be delivered to your working muscles during intense exercise. Your blood lactate will be measured with a finger stick during each stage of the incremental test in order to calculate your lactate threshold, which is a measure of the percent of your VO2max that your body is no longer able to efficiently buffer and clear lactic acid (metabolic byproduct). Lactic acid accumulation may impair performance during high-intensity activity. The full performance test includes both a baseline and follow-up test of each of the above-described tests.

I am considering one of the first 2. The third one scares the death out me.. I have visions of me gasping for breath and blackness encroaching on the treadmill... The prices are reasonable.. The first 2 are cheaper than some popular model HRM's..

Thoughts?? Good idea? Waste of time and money?
