Is exercise making me sick?

My body is just NOT accepting all this exercise. I can't catch a break. First, I pull a muscle in my back, I'm down for three days. Then, I get the stomach bug, down for two days. I recover and proceed with my workout, and now I have a god awful chest/head cold. The same thing happened a few years ago when I started running on a daily basis and dropped 40 pounds; I ended up getting bronchitis. Truth be told, I rarely get sick until I start working out. Could it be the exercise affecting my immune system? What should I do to prevent it?
