I need help with my BMR.
I was recruited for a healthy aging study at a local science facility. At the time, I was dancing professional, in the dance minor program at my college, and sporadically hitting the gym for my hyper mobility. Among other things, they tested my BMR by having me lay totally still in a bubble for 30-45 minutes.
At the time, they told me my BMR was 1735. I was following a vegan diet at the time.
Fast forward to December of 2009. I had to switch GP's. New GP does not mess around. Since seeing her, I have seen about 5 specialist, been diagnosed with hyper thyroid (that worked it self out) migraines, and found out i was severely anemic and put on a no excersize ban for a little over a year when my iron came back at 12 and my vitamin D was low.
I changed my diet, all my levels are okay now and I asked if I could go back to the gym and dance classes and got the okay, provided I come in every 3 months and get my levels checked.
Being that my BMR was 1735 before the ban, my excersize for the last year has been walking my dogs and my weekend job, where i roam around a store for 4 hours and talk to people. I got a pedometer and i walk about 4-5 miles per shift. My fitness pal saying my BMR is around 1440 or around there, but I'm not sure how low your BMR can drop in a year.
I don't qualify for any of the facility that tested it before's recent studies, so I can't really go get it checked again.
I really have no idea how much I should be eating per day. I went from being vegetarian to pescatarian after my iron and D came back low.
I don't really need to lose weight. In the year I was off, I gained back the weight I lost when my thyroid was out of whack, but I want my dancer body back
