What's going on...water weight, body fat & weight?

So I weighed in today with my personal trainer. Apparently I gained 1.6 pounds. I went on vacation this week so I wasn't suprised by that. My body fat went from 30.8% to 25.3%. My water weight or water saturation (Don't completely understand this number) went from 72.8% to 79.4% I seem to be all over the place. Can someone help me make sense of this? My water seems to be going up every week. Last week it went up 3%. What could be the cause of these wacky results?

It seems like a fat loss that dramatic would coincide with the early stages of your fitness plan (first two months?). You're working with a trainer, so I'm assuming you're doing some weights?
If so, your drop in fat makes perfect sense with your gain in pounds, because muscle weighs more than fat. I've been in the exact same boat before, and my mistake was relying to heavily on the scale for validation. Trust the calipers and the tape measurer, and don't let the scale get to you. Who cares if you're a "lighter" person when what you actually want to be is a "smaller" person?
Don't concern yourself with water saturation too much either. Your water weight can fluctuate up to 2 pounds per day (right?!!!?). If it's consistently going up, that's probably a good thing... you might be making healthier choices like eating fresh fruits (that are mostly water) and staying hydrated. If it's a huge concern, ask your trainer if a doctor might need to supervise your water retention (I would think they'd tell you if your numbers look unhealthy, right?)0 -
Congrats on that body fat loss!!!! How long did that take you?! I'm working on body fat loss as well.0

Keep eating right and sleeping right and maybe hit the gym 3 times a week and youll see results like that all the time.
The saturation has to do with your muscles being filled with water and glycogen.
This is common after working out then eating carbs.
Its why I tend to tell people who eat higher calories not to look at the scale.
My body fluctuates up to 5lbs after working out and eating.
