Have you figured out why you had an ED? If not, you may go back to old habits. It's important to understand why you were abusing your body and deal with the problem, rather than controlling what goes in your mouth and not coping with the 'problem'.
Recovered here also. I was down to 96lbs and after 20-some years I shot up to 179, mostly due to being sedentary and wrong food choices, etc. etc. I was afraid when I started MFP also because when I had my ED I was a fanatic about calorie counting and you know how it is, you are proud of yourself when you're under. So far I'm doing fine. When I eat, I eat healthy stuff (mostly!) and I'm rarely hungry. I exercise daily and it relieves some of the stress I have and it gives me 'exercise calories'. I know you're supposed to eat them and I don't always, but if I'm hungry I eat! I've lost 30 pounds so far (since Jan) and I'm doing ok. I don't have a problem eating my calories unless I burn over 1,000. There is no way I can eat my reg calories and that too. I try, but I won't stuff myself if I'm not hungry. If I wake up hungry in the middle of the night, which is rare, but usually happens after a major workout, I'll eat something like a hand full of nuts. For me it's working. If you feel like you're falling back into bad habits, get help by seeing a nutritionist. Good luck and <hugs> !

Thanks so much for your support :) I believe that I have (after 3 years of soul searching and on/off counselling!) worked out why I had an ED and, though I won't go into detail why I developed it here, I hope I'm now strong enough in myself to resist the urge to go back, which is really more of a terror of the unknown :) you're right though, it is so important to understand.

I have learned to like myself (personality-wise at least!!), and do now, and that has helped massively :)
