Ok, so I am having a hell of a time falling asleep at night. I started taking sleep aids.....so I have been falling asleep around 3am....getting up about 11am and cannot keep my eyes open. I slept today until 5:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And woke up with my other hip hurting (was the right side for 3 days and now the left) lifted something heavy yesterday and carried it quite a ways, anyway.............cannot cannot cannot stay awake. So when ya all are sleeping I am staring at the ceiling.......

Ideas?

I just started the sleep aids......but for 3 weeks before I wasn't sleeping much at night at all....and they are over the counter anyway, I don't have a doctor.

When I went to the gym at the evening hours I had a hard time sleeping at nite. I switched to early morning and just a walk in the evening that really helped! Are you exercising at nite? I am no expert but that change worked for me.

Here is an article on things that can prevent you from sleeping as well as things that help you sleep:

I suffered with sleep problems for many years, this is what eventually worked for me. First throw out the sleeping pills and stop using caffene. Then you need to figure out how much sleep you need. Keep track of how many hours you sleep on several days when you get to sleep until you naturally wake up. Then for example it might be 8 hours. Then you need to become extremely consistent about your wake up time. If during the week you have to get up at 7 then you need to get up at 7 everyday even weekends. For the first week or so don't worry about what time you go to bed just get up every day at the same time. After that count backward the number of hours determined you need to sleep and try to have a consistent bedtime and wake up time. Soon you'll be sleeping better than you thought possible and waking up before the alarm

    Good Luck!

I agree. my pcp gave me ambien about a year ago. I took that for about 2-3 months, what a crazy drug. I was glad to get off it. I find that now that i'm exercisig more i'm sleeping better. good luck finding a solution. I've had a problem sleeping well most of my life. try not to worry about it too much that just makes it worse.
