emotional over eating

I have trouble with emotional over eating. I eat even when I'm not hungry. Does anyone else have this problem? How have you dealt with it? Were you able to lose weight?

I used to have this problem and "think" I have conquered it. When I feel like eating I STOP what I am doing and assess whether or not I am actually hungry. If I am not hungry, I grab a piece of Extra gum.
