I keep getting "iTunes doesn't identify this ipod", try completely uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes. If I do that , will I lose all my music from CD and what was downloaded?? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks -Kim

You shouldn't "lose" any music that is saved to your hard drive. You may or may not have to add it to iTunes again, but that's pretty quick & easy.0

I had that happen a few weeks ago after my last upgrade. I had to reset my ipod (not iTunes) to factory settings then it recognized it and synced correctly. Erased all my fitness data0

I have a Nano that is at least 5 years old and I never have problems with it. It will occasionally lock up and I have to do a "soft" reset, but that's about it. iTunes is always my issue. But then.. I don't use my iPod for anything but listening to music, either.0
